Best Photo-to-Quote Apps for Small Crews (2026)

We make QuoteProof. Here's an honest look anyway.

If you take photos at every walkthrough, the next question is what turns those photos into a quote the customer says yes to. Here are six apps small crews actually look at, what each one is built for, and who it fits. We've tried to be straight about where the others do things better than we do.

How we picked (and our bias)

QuoteProof makes this list, and QuoteProof is the last entry. We picked apps that solo contractors and crews of 1–5 commonly compare when they search for an estimate app or a photo-to-quote app. For each one, we used only the company's own website for features and prices, checked on October 11, 2026. We left out star ratings and scores because they aren't comparable across app stores and review sites. We only show prices where we could confirm them on the company's site that day. For the others, check their pricing page directly; prices change.

The list is ordered by the kind of crew each app suits best, not by rank.

SimplyWise

What it is: a set of AI tools for contractors from SimplyWise: an AI-powered job cost estimator, a receipt scanner, and an automatic mileage tracker. The app is free to download.

How photos fit in: SimplyWise's own FAQ says you can snap a photo of a room or exterior and get an itemized estimate priced by material and labor, and that you enter measurements yourself.

Good to know: it bundles receipts and mileage in the same suite, which is handy if bookkeeping is part of your evening too. For pricing, see SimplyWise's site.

Best for: solo contractors and remodelers who want a quick AI starting estimate and also want receipts and mileage handled.

QuoteIQ

What it is: a broad field-service platform from QuoteIQ: estimates, invoicing, scheduling and more in one app.

How photos fit in: QuoteIQ's AI Estimator lets you "use a job photo to help AI draft an estimate," which you review before sending. QuoteIQ Cam keeps job photos, inspections and before/afters with the customer and lets you text them a link to the report. MapMeasure Pro measures properties from satellite imagery so you can prepare an estimate before a visit. InstaQuote lets customers build their own quote from your services and prices on your website.

Good to know: some tools are only on higher plans, so check QuoteIQ's pricing page for what's included where.

Best for: service businesses (lawn, pressure washing, cleaning, home services) that want photos, quoting, scheduling and more in one login and plan to grow.

Joist

What it is: an estimating, invoicing and payments app from Joist, built for contractors.

How photos fit in: you can add job photos and attachments to estimates and invoices. Joist also offers built-in AI to "create estimates & invoices with AI" and polish notes.

Strengths: it's inexpensive; estimates convert to invoices; it has online payments, deposits, Tap to Pay and homeowner financing; saved items and project templates; customer digital signatures; change orders on Elite; and QuickBooks sync.

Price (per joist.com/pricing, Oct 2026): Basics $10/mo (up to 5 documents a month), Pro $17/mo, Elite $32/mo, Run $100/mo listed with an introductory $70/mo. Annual billing gives two months free. 14-day free trial, no credit card.

Best for: solo contractors who mostly need cheap, clean estimates and invoices and want to take payments in the same app.

Jobber

What it is: a full field-service suite from Jobber: online booking, quoting, invoicing and online payments, scheduling, automated follow-ups and reminders, a client hub, and add-ons for bigger teams.

How photos fit in: quotes can include images (with "rich visuals" on the Grow plan), and the Plus plan stores unlimited photos and videos from every job.

Price (per getjobber.com/pricing, Oct 11, 2026): plans starting at $29/month (Core, billed annually; $49 month to month), with higher tiers for automation, teams and more users. Free trial, no credit card required.

Best for: crews that need scheduling and dispatch, reminders and a CRM, not just quotes.

Full comparison: QuoteProof vs Jobber.

CompanyCam

What it is: a job-site photo and video documentation app from CompanyCam.

How photos fit in: this is CompanyCam's core. It offers photo and video capture, galleries and timelines, annotations, tags and labels, in-app communication, documents and photo reports, and integrations with other tools. Its pricing page also lists sales tools on some plans, including creating proposals from voice notes and photos. See CompanyCam's pricing page for which plan includes what.

Best for: crews, especially multi-crew outfits, where documenting every job with photos and keeping the team on the same page is the main job.

QuoteProof

What it is: a quoting app for solo contractors and crews of 1–5, made by Otech Labs. (It's not the invoice app at quoteproof.app.)

How photos fit in: you take photos of the job, and QuoteProof drafts the scope and line items from your photos and notes, priced at your own hourly rate, materials markup and drive time/mileage. You check and fix every line. The customer approves on a link that opens on any phone, with no account and no app, by typing their name; the approval is stored with a date stamp. They see one price per line and the total, not your rates or markup. Quotes show how long the price is good for, and revisions are tracked. When you finish, a before-and-after proof report with time stamps (and location when the phone provides it) goes to the customer to verify.

Also: a booking link, dictation, crew job assignment on the Crew plan, offline capture that syncs later, a direct QuickBooks connection on Solo and Crew, and a QuickBooks-ready CSV on Starter.

What it doesn't do: it doesn't process payments, it isn't a dispatch system, and it isn't a company-wide photo library. It costs more than Joist.

Price (per quoteproof.dev/pricing): Starter $49/mo (1 user, 10 jobs a month), Solo $99/mo (1 user, unlimited jobs), Crew $249/mo (up to 5 users). Yearly gets one month free. 7 days free, no card.

Best for: owner-operators and crews of 1–5 who quote from the truck and want every quote priced on their own numbers, with proof at the end.

Photo-to-quote questions

What is a photo-to-quote app?

A photo-to-quote app helps you turn photos taken at a walkthrough into a priced quote for the customer. Some apps draft the estimate or line items from the photos for you to review. Others let you attach photos to an estimate you build yourself. Either way, you should check every line and price before the quote goes out.

Is there a free estimate app for contractors?

Some apps are free to download, like SimplyWise, but most charge a subscription to keep using the estimating features. Free trials are common: Joist offers 14 days with no credit card, Jobber offers a free trial with no credit card, and QuoteProof offers 7 days with no card. Check each company's site for current terms.

Which app is best for a one-person crew?

It depends on what slows you down. If it's getting paid, Joist is inexpensive and takes payments. If you want scheduling and a CRM, look at Jobber. If turning walkthrough photos into a priced quote and keeping proof of the work is the bottleneck, QuoteProof is built for exactly that. Try the trials on a real job.
